The Twitter account of Hillary Clinton's campaign chairman John Podesta has been hacked and changed to falsely proclaim he now supports Donald Trump.
The Washington Post reports the tech tampering occurred after hacked emails from Podesta's personal email account were released on WikiLeaks, a website that specializes in baring private documents.
A message posted on the account by the hackers on Wednesday night, and which has since been removed, read:
"I've switched teams. Vote Trump 2016. Hi pol."
The Post said "Hi pol" may be a reference to a group of Trump supporters who post on the website 4chan.com.
Clinton spokesman Nick Merrill confirmed Podesta's Twitter account had been hacked and "we're working on fixing it."
