Kellyanne Conway: Trump 'Committed' to Supreme Court Nominee From His List

("Good Morning America")

President-elect Donald Trump has always been open about who is on his list of potential Supreme Court justices, and he is committed to "elevating somebody who is already on that list," Trump campaign manager Kellyanne Conway said Wednesday.

"I think what's really important is he's given job descriptions to what he feels the Supreme Court justice should be and do," Conway told ABC's "Good Morning America" anchor George Stephanopoulos.

"[It would be] somebody who adheres very closely to the Constitution, doesn't make up the law as they go along, doesn't have a political agenda. The 19 or so men and women he's put forth certainly fit that description."

However, Conway would not speculate on another vow Trump made in his campaign: to prosecute his Democratic rival, former Secretary of State Hillary Clinton, for her use of a private email server and for issues connected with the Clinton Foundation.

"We have not discussed that at all and he certainly didn't discuss it on his brief phone call with Mrs. Clinton," Conway told Stephanopoulos.

Conway, meanwhile, pointed out that in his speech early Wednesday, Trump said he'll be the "president of all Americans," and that includes "those who did not support him for president, and that's a really great way to start one's presidency."

Trump heads to Washington with a Republican House and Senate, so he will be able to implement some of the changes he's already outlined in his 100-day plan, Conway said.

She told Stephanopoulos it "feels absolutely euphoric" that Trump won, as "this was a campaign for the people and they have spoken and want to go in a new and different direction and want different leadership and Mr. Trump and Gov. [Mike] Pence did a fabulous job taking the case directly to the people.

"We faced an avalanche of criticism, naysayers, every single day and I'm just so proud that the people overcame that. This is really a victory for them."
