Donald Trump can "absolutely" win the presidential election without winning the state of Pennsylvania, and has "several different paths to victory," the GOP nominee's campaign manager Kellyanne Conway said Sunday.
In an interview with ABC News' "This Week," Conway insisted the campaign is "taking Pennsylvania very seriously."
But when pressed if Trump could, given his deficit in polling against Hillary Clinton in the Keystone State, win the White House without a victory there, Conway declared, "Yes, we can. Absolutely."
"Mr. Trump's message from the beginning has been particularly resonant among a lot of the working — a lot of the workers who feel like they've been left behind in this economy," she said, adding: "We have several different paths to victory."
"We're taking every state seriously," she asserted.
Conway also hit the Clinton campaign for trying to "pivot" away from the former secretary of state's handling of classified State Department information by using a private email server.
"She, they want this election to be about Donald Trump," she said. "And the American people want this election to be about honesty and trustworthiness and her being more acceptable and forthcoming in her responses."
Conway added Clinton "is having a hard time being accepted as a truthful and honest candidate vis-a-vis the American people," she said, adding vice presidential nominee Sen. Tim Kaine, who appeared earlier in the morning program to defend Clinton's handling of her emails, "is trying to pivot away to Donald Trump is really become a favorite parlor game these days."
She also insisted Trump will make Mexico pay for the border wall that he wants to build across the southern border, despite Mexico President Enrique Pena Nieto's declaration that his country will not do so.
"They disagreed on that conversation," she said. "But I think Mr. Trump clarified very clearly when he got to Arizona later in that day that he will build that wall. …And he will have Mexico pay for it."
