Former New York Mayor Michael Bloomberg is unlikely to make a third-party run for president,
ABC News reports.
The chances now of Bloomberg making a run are "very, very low – almost zero," ABC's Jonathan Karl quoted a source close to Bloomberg as saying.
The former mayor earlier this year
floated the idea of an independent candidacy should Donald Trump win the Republican nomination and Bernie Sanders win the Democratic nod. Though Trump appears headed for the GOP crown, Hillary Clinton appears likely to be the Democratic nominee at this point.
Back in January, Bloomberg was saying his odds of running were about 50-50.
Bloomberg has not completely ruled out a run, and is going through the process of getting on the ballot so he can make a decision at a later date, ABC notes. But his final decision is likely to come this week or next.
