Republicans voting in the New York primary on Tuesday said that they preferred outside candidates versus insiders and that the campaign for the nomination has divided the party.

Here are the results, based on CNN exit polls:

Which kind of candidate do you prefer in the White House?
  • Outside the GOP establishment: 64 percent.
  • Inside the Republican Party: 32 percent.
How has the race affected the Republican Party?
  • Divided the party: 57 percent.
  • Energized the party: 39 percent.
