Newsmax Media Inc., has named television executive Michael Clemente as its Chief Executive Officer for its subsidiary Newsmax Broadcasting, which airs the Newsmax TV channel.
Clemente will oversee the programming and day-to-day operations of Newsmax TV, the nation’s fastest-growing cable news channel, reaching approximately 50 million cable and broadcast homes in the U.S.
“Michael is one of the most accomplished executives and producers in television and digital news,” Christopher Ruddy, CEO of parent company Newsmax Media, Inc., said. “He is widely respected in the industry and has won accolades for his high journalistic standards. It’s an honor for us to have him leading our team.”

Clemente is a seasoned veteran of broadcast and cable news. He recently spent seven years at Fox News as Executive Vice President of News. Previously he worked almost three decades at ABC News as well as two years at CNN.
At Fox News, he oversaw all news programming, including live events, breaking news, documentaries, and specials. He was Executive Vice President for the presidential primary debates during the last two campaign cycles, including the August 2015 debate that averaged over 24 million viewers, as well as the Michigan Democratic Town Hall in March 2016.
At ABC News, Clemente was Senior Producer for World News Tonight with Peter Jennings, Senior Broadcast Producer for 20/20, and Executive Producer of This Week with David Brinkley, ABC’s Breaking News Specials and ABC News Now, a cable and digital streaming 24/7 live news channel, which he launched with 26 original programs. At CNN, Clemente was Executive Producer of Live and Breaking News and oversaw CNN’s signature talk shows, including Inside Politics, Crossfire, Reliable Sources, and Late Edition.
Clemente also serves on the board of directors of American University in Washington, D.C., and Elon University in North Carolina. Clemente graduated from American University with a B.A. in Communications.
Newsmax TV has had tremendous success since its launch in 2014 as a 24/7 cable news channel and is already carried by DirecTV, DISH, FiOS, U-verse and more than two dozen cable systems.
