Co-worker of Shooter Says He Was 'Unhinged and Unstable'
 Omar Mateen

Orlando nightclub shooter Omar Mateen was "unhinged and unstable," a former co-worker told Florida Today.

Daniel Gilroy, a former police officer who worked with Mateen as a security guard for about a year at the PGA Village gated community, said Mateen frequently talked of killing people and made racist comments.

Gilroy said he quit the job after he made complaints to the company that were ignored and then Mateen starting stalking him via some 15 phone messages and 30 text messages a day.

Gilroy claims the reason the company did not take action against Mateen was because he was Muslim and that they did not want to deal with possible accusations of bias.

Gilroy told Fox News Channel's "The Kelly File" that Mateen had anger and rage anytime he had to deal with a black person or a woman, calling them all sorts of names. He also insulted homosexuals and Jews, but not as frequently, Gilroy says, because he did not come in contact with them very often at the gated community at which they worked.

One female PGA Village resident, Eleanora Dorsi, however, told Florida Today that she had frequent contact with Mateen and that he was always very friendly and polite.

She said that Mateen even helped her with her car once and said he always seemed to be a nice and positive person.
