Paul Ryan on Trump's Gun Remark: 'You Should Never Joke About That'

House Speaker Paul Ryan apparently had at least a couple minutes to savor his huge victory in Tuesday night's Wisconsin primary before being asked another Donald Trump question.

During his press conference after soundly defeating GOP challenger Paul Nehlen, Ryan was asked about Trump's comments earlier in the day, suggesting Second Amendment supporters take it upon themselves to stop Hillary Clinton from appointing federal judges who would likely abolish Amendment No. 2.

"I've been a little busy," Politico quoted Ryan. "It sounds like a joke gone bad. You should never joke about that. I hope he clears it up quickly."

Trump said he wasn't joking when he said this in North Carolina earlier Tuesday:

"Hillary wants to essentially abolish the Second Amendment," Trump told a rally. "If she gets to pick her judges, nothing you can do, folks. Although the Second Amendment people — maybe there is, I don't know."
