Democratic presidential nominee Hillary Clinton remains ahead of GOP nominee Donald Trump by 8 points in this week's NBC News/Survey Monkey poll, posting numbers virtually unchanged from her 9-point lead last week.

According to this week's results:

  • Clinton: 50 percent;
  • Trump: 42 percent;
  • And in a four-way race:
  • Clinton: 43 percent;
  • Trump: 38 percent;
  • Libertarian nominee Gary Johnson: 11 percent;
  • Green Party nominee Jill Stein, 5 percent;
  • Independent candidate Evan McMullin was not listed in the weekly poll.

The new numbers came out as Trump's campaign went through major shifts, including the resignation of campaign manager Paul Manafort and the additions of Kellyanne Conway and Stephen Bannon to run the operations.

Trump in the past week also acknowledged regretting some of his campaign comments and shifted to a new focus on attracting non-white voters.

The new poll, though shows he still faces a tough battle in the non-white demographic:

  • Black voters: Clinton, 87-8 percent;
  • Latino voters: Clinton, 73-22 percent;
  • Asian Americans: Clinton, 66-23 percent.

In addition, most voters surveyed for the poll believe race relations will remain a campaign issue, and Trump's supporters were less optimistic than Clinton's. Among Trump's supporters 78 percent thought race relations were getting worse, while 54 percent of Clinton's supporters believe that.

Trump also remained ahead with men, by 49-43 percent, while Clinton was ahead among women, by 56-35 percent.

The poll was conducted from Aug. 15-21 among 17,459 people who said they are registered voters, and carried an error estimate of plus or minus 1.1 percentage points. Click here for full methodology and results.
