Democratic nominee Hillary Clinton's email scandal and the "pay-to-play" accusations surrounding the Clinton Foundation do not appear to be hindering her campaign for the White House, according to a new weekly Rasmussen Reports poll.
In the survey of 1,000 likely voters, conducted from August 23-24:
- Clinton: 42 percent (up from 41 percent last week);
- GOP nominee Donald Trump: 38 percent (down 1 point from last week);
- Libertarian nominee Gary Johnson: 9 percent;
- Green Party nominee Jill Stein: 2 percent;
- Some other candidate: 3 percent;
- Undecided: 7 percent.
Independent candidate Evan McMullin, who is still fighting to be on ballots in many states, was not included in the Rasmussen poll.
Clinton and Trump both have the overwhelming support of their parties, with 79 percent of Democrats supporting her and 76 percent of Republicans supporting him. Trump also continues to hold a small lead among voters not affiliated with either party.
Johnson, meanwhile, draws almost equally from both parties and is carrying 20 percent of the unaffiliated voters, the poll reveals.
The new poll carries a margin of error of plus or minus 3 percentage points.
