Iran’s ambassador to the United Nations has labeled as an "act of war" the killing of top Gen. Qassem Soleimani, and that there’ll be “harsh revenge.”
In an interview with CNN’s Erin Burnett, Majid Takht Ravanchi said Tehran would avenge the attack in Iraq.
Asked if the supreme leader of Iran’s vow to retaliate is a war, Ravanchi replied: “The U.S. has already started a war against Iran. Not only economic war but something beyond that, by assassinating one of our top generals who is being mourned by the people in Iran and in the region.”
“So we cannot just close our eyes to what happened,” he continued. “Definitely, there will be a revenge. There will be a harsh revenge.
“Iran will act based on its own choosing. And the time, the place … will be decided by Iran,” he warned.
“We cannot just remain silent. We have to act and we will act,” he added.
