Hillary Clinton is expected to do well on Monday's debate because she has "been in public life forever" — but Donald Trump is "ready to go," Republican National Committee Chairman Reince Priebus said.
"We had 12 bruising debates in our primary already," Priebus told Bill Hemmer on Fox News. "Not the mention, Donald Trump spent the last five weeks every single day giving detail policy speeches.
"He's very much ready to go."
Trump and Clinton will square off at Hofstra University in Hempstead, N.Y., in the first of three presidential debates. NBC News anchor Lester Holt is the moderator.
Priebus would not give too much insight into Trump's preparation plans, but the objective is to "make sure that the American people see the Donald Trump that we see every day.
"A person that wants to get to work. A person who has a track record of getting things done. A person who has detailed plans as to the economy and foreign policy," he said.
As for the Democratic candidate, Priebus told Hemmer that "I do think that Hillary Clinton is preparing 24/7.
"I expect her to try to knock this out of the park.
"The reality is that her entire life was spent in politics," he added. "The expectation is that she will do very, very well — and she must."
