Hillary Clinton expects to spend most of the first presidential debate correcting Donald Trump's statements, campaign manager Robby Mook said Wednesday morning.

"She wants to make sure that when she gets to that debate, she will clearly lay out the plans that she has developed to make a difference in people's lives," Mook told CNN's Alisyn Camerota on the "New Day" program. "All we're asking is that Donald Trump do the same thing."

That means the GOP nominee needs to tell the truth, said Mook, and that "doesn't often" happen, so Clinton will "have to spend some time probably correcting the record and making sure voters understand the facts."

Clinton plans to visit just two states this week and took Tuesday off the campaign trail while preparing for the debate, being held on Monday at Hofstra University in Long Island, New York.

Mook said he hopes, meanwhile, that Trump "goes to the drawing board and puts together some plans," as there have been no "real specifics" or serious plans from him.

He also accused Trump of being easily offended, claiming that he can "get set off by a tweet," and that's why he'd argue that he's "unfit and unprepared to have our nuclear codes and lead our men and women in uniform as commander in chief."
