Conservative talk radio host
Rush Limbaugh admitted Wednesday he was "somewhat puzzled" by GOP presidential front-runner Donald Trump accepting an endorsement.
Trump on Tuesday night shared the stage with former
Alaska Gov. Sarah Palin, who threw her support behind the billionaire businessman. That seemed out of character for Trump, Limbaugh said.
"I look at Trump as a genuine outsider, as somebody who doesn't do anything by the book in politics," he said. "And yesterday he did two things by the book that, frankly, surprised me. One is accepting an endorsement.
"I saw Trump standing aside while she was at the podium, and he's not the kind of guy that stands aside. He just isn't. He's that dominant," Limbaugh said. "He is that huge to give up the podium even to somebody endorsing him, sponsoring him."
Limbaugh said he also was surprised to see Trump "go all in on the ethanol subsidy," saying it "reeks of political insiderism."
Still, Limbaugh said, the position was understandable with the Iowa caucuses just days away now and the subsidy a big issue there.
