Sarah Palin declared that America won in the Iowa presidential caucus, even though the candidate she supported, Republican front-runner Donald Trump, lost.
"Tonight, America wins," the former Alaska governor said
on Facebook. "The permanent political class does not — and that is good.
"To restore Constitutional government, the status quo has got to go," she said. "The Iowa caucuses proves many Americans feel the same."
Palin noted that the top three candidates — winner Ted Cruz, Trump and No. 3 finisher Marco Rubio — took 70 percent of the vote.
"Now, this healthy, hearty competition moves to New Hampshire, South Carolina and beyond," Palin said.
She added that those backing Trump "thank Iowa supporters and look forward to forging ahead.
"The tangible commonsense conservative solutions requiring a doer, not a talker, will restore American exceptionalism," Palin said.
"Onward and upward, America."
