New York Sen. Chuck Schumer, a Democrat, says Republican presidential front-runner Donald Trump "did a very good job defending New York" when Texas Sen. Ted Cruz assailed "New York values" in attacking Trump.
In Thursday's debate Trump invoked how New Yorkers pulled together after 9/11 and said Cruz insulted them.
"Trump stood up for New York 100 percent," Schumer told John Catsimatidis, host of "The Cats Roundtable" on AM 970 in New York. http://am970theanswer.com/Shows/L3521 "I think [Cruz] hurt himself and he deserved to, and Trump, gotta give him credit, was right on the money in his response.
"Maybe [Cruz] wants to go to Wall Street and talk about New York values, you know, where his wife worked,” Schumer said, referring to the fact that Cruz’s wife worked for Goldman Sachs.
