Donald Trump and Hillary Clinton squared off over the Second Amendment within the context of the Supreme Court in their final debate Wednesday, with the Democratic nominee calling for "reasonable regulation" and her opponent pledging to name justices who will uphold the right to bear arms.
"I believe that there can be and must be reasonable regulation," Clinton said Wednesday at the University of Nevada-Las Vegas. "Because I support the Second Amendment doesn't mean that I want people who shouldn't have guns to be able to threaten you, kill you or members of your family."
But Trump countered Chicago has "the toughest gun laws in the United States," but "they have more gun violence than any other city.
"We have the toughest laws and tremendous gun violence.
"This is the best way to help the Second Amendment: We are going to appoint justices that will feel very strongly about the Second Amendment," Trump said.
"That will not do damage to the Second Amendment."
