Texas Sen. Ted Cruz said Wednesday his 5-year-old and 7-year-old daughters are better behaved than his top GOP presidential rival Donald Trump.
Cruz took questions from reporters in Goffstown, New Hampshire, who asked him about
Trump's accusations on Twitter that he cheated and committed fraud to win the Iowa caucuses.
Cruz said Trump's insults get "more hysterical" for more upset he gets.
"I think they are very funny," Cruz said. "I wake up every day and laugh at the latest thing Donald has tweeted. Because he's losing it."
But the country needs someone with better judgment and temperament in the White House, he said.
"I don't know anyone who would be comfortable with someone who behaves this way having his finger on the button," Cruz said. "I mean, we're liable to wake up one morning and Donald, if he were president, would have nuked Denmark."
The American people are not interested in Trump's "circus sideshow of insults," he said. "You know, my girls are 5 and 7. And I've got to tell you, Caroline and Catherine are better behaved than a presidential candidate who responds by insulting everyone every day."
