Texas Sen. Ted Cruz on Wednesday accused Donald Trump, his top rival for the GOP presidential nomination, of supporting "Bernie Sanders-style socialized medicine for everyone,"
Bloomberg Politics reports.
"You might even call that view a New York value," Cruz said during a rally in West Des Moines, Iowa.
"We had Hillarycare, we had Obamacare," Cruz said, "and Trumpcare is socialized medicine for every American."
Sanders, running for the Democratic nomination, said during a CNN forum on Monday he favors Medicare for everyone and raising taxes to pay for it.
Bloomberg notes that Trump supported a single-payer system in 1999, but now says he wants to repeal and replace Obamacare. But, Bloomberg reports, Trump's alternative sounds very much like Obamacare.
