Tim Kaine: FBI's Timing, Lack of Information on Email Case 'Troubling'

Hillary Clinton running mate Virginia Gov. Tim Kaine said Friday that the campaign wants more information from the FBI regarding its reopened investigation into Clinton's private email server.

Kaine spoke with Vice News' Evan McMorris-Santoro after Friday's FBI announcement. The network released a short clip of Kaine's comments.

"When you do this 11 days before a presidential election, and you don't provide many details but details are apparently being given by the FBI to the press, this is very, very troubling," Kaine said. "We hope that the director — we really think that he should — give clearer accounting of exactly what's going on right now."

FBI Director James Comey told congressional leaders in a letter his agency is taking another look at Clinton's email case, citing new evidence. Reports Friday afternoon indicated that Clinton's top aide Huma Abedin and her estranged husband, former Rep. Anthony Weiner, are connected to that evidence.
