Donald Trump is calling out GOP presidential rival Sen. Ted Cruz's campaign for being "not nice" by funding push polls in Iowa, where caucus-goers are preparing to vote Feb. 1 in an extremely tight nomination race.

In a tweet late Tuesday, the real estate billionaire also bragged about his continued good run in polling in the contest:

The Washington Examiner
reports one Iowa voter who claimed he received the automated call shared language from the surveys that seemed to be slanted in favor of the Texas lawmaker.

Push polls are typically used by political campaigns to gain a better understanding of a specific group of voters, though they are often criticized for wording allegedly aimed at pushing voters away from a candidate they might otherwise have supported, the Examiner notes.

Recent polls have shown Trump with a slight edge over Cruz in the extremely tight GOP race in Iowa.
