Donald Trump at Wednesday's presidential debate again hedged on whether he would concede defeat if Hillary Clinton wins the November 8 election.
"I will tell you at the time. I'll keep you in suspense," Trump told debate moderator Chris Wallace.
Trump has been complaining at rallies and on Twitter of a "rigged" election, leading many to wonder if he — and his supporters — will accept the results if Clinton is declared the winner.
Trump's running mate Mike Pence and his daughter Ivanka Trump both have said Trump will accept the results of the election, but Trump was not as ironclad.
"I will look at it at the time," he said. "I'm not looking at anything now," repeating his charge that the "dishonest and corrupt" media have piled on him in an effort to boost Clinton.
"It's so dishonest, and they have poisoned the mind of the voters," he said. "I think the voters are going to see through it. We'll find out but I think they're going to see through it."
Clinton called Trump's response "horrifying," saying that whenever things don't go his way he claims the system is rigged against him.
"The FBI did a year-long investigation into my emails, they concluded there was no case; he said the FBI was rigged. He lost the Iowa caucus, the Wisconsin primary' he said the Republican primary was rigged against him. Then, Trump University gets sued for fraud and racketeering and he claims the court system and the federal judge is rigged against him," she said. "There was even a time when he didn't get an Emmy for his TV program three years in a row and he tweeted it was rigged."
"Should have gotten it," Trump jumped in.
"It's funny but also really troubling," Clinton replied. " It's not the way our democracy works. We have been around 240 years, free and fair elections, we accepted the outcomes when we may not have liked them."
