Donald Trump declared Saturday that he won Monday's debate with Hillary Clinton — "if you decide without watching the totally one-sided 'spin' that followed" — and questioned why debate organizers did not repair his microphone now that they acknowledged problems with it during the contest.

The Republican aired his comments on Twitter:

The nonpartisan Commission on Presidential Debates said Friday on its website that "there were issues regarding Donald Trump's audio that affected the sound level in the debate hall."

The commission, which is overseeing the three presidential debates and the one upcoming Tuesday with the vice presidential candidates, did not elaborate on the statement.

After Monday's debate at Hofstra University in New York, Trump denounced the quality of his microphone — and the initial complaint was met with widespread derision and disbelief.

"They gave me a defective mic," he told reporters after the contest. "Did you notice that?

"My mic was defective within the room," Trump said. "I wonder, was that on purpose? Was that on purpose?"

Hillary Clinton quipped afterward that "anyone complaining about microphones is not having a good night."

The pair will square off again on Oct. 8 at Washington University in St. Louis.
