Trump's Mystery Guest: Social Media Speculating Palin Might Endorse

Trump's Mystery Guest: Social Media Speculating Palin Might Endorse

By    |   Tuesday, 19 January 2016 09:10 AM EST

Republican presidential candidate Donald Trump has been teasing a "major announcement," set to be released in Iowa today, sending Twitter abuzz with speculation that his "special guest" might be Sarah Palin.

That has lead to even more speculation about a Palin endorsement of the GOP frontrunner, though there is no indication from the Palin camp when, or if, she'll endorse anyone.

Trump's announcement reads:

Join me on Tuesday, January 19th at the Iowa State University Hansen Agricultural Student Learning Center in Ames, Iowa!...

Though it is largely speculative, Twitter users uncovered the fact that FlightAware, a live flight tracker website, shows a chartered plane from Anchorage, Alaska to Des Moines, Iowa today and then is expected to continue to Tulsa, which is Trump's next stop. Palin has been an avid Ted Cruz supporter in the past and if the rumors are true, Rick Tyler, Ted Cruz's communication spokesman told CNN's "New Day" program on Tuesday that he'd be "deeply disappointed."

When asked if a Trump endorsement from Palin would be a blow to Cruz's campaign, Tyler responded: "I think it would be a blow to Sarah Palin."

"Sarah Palin has been a champion for the conservative cause," Tyler continued. "And if she was going to endorse Donald Trump, sadly she'd be endorsing someone who's held Progressive views all their life on the sanctity of life, marriage, partial birth abortion.

"He supported the T.A.R.P. Bailout. It goes on and on and on. Donald Trump claims he's changed all those views."

Sarah Palin, however, is not the only speculated "special guest."

Also on the list is Jerry Falwell Jr., an American evangelical Southern Baptist pastor, televangelist, and a conservative political commentator who introduced and praised Trump at Liberty University on Monday.

And while conservative talk show host Steve Deace originally took to Twitter announcing his belief that the guest was Falwell, now, his position has changed. Today, Deace speculated that all signs are pointing to Palin. According to Politico, "the relationship between Trump and Palin extends back to 2011, when the two ate pizza with a fork in Times Square during a stop on Palin's bus tour."

Just weeks ago, she told Newsmax that the brewing Cruz-Trump battle would be a "good problem to have."

She went on to say that both men are fighting for America, and are not part of the establishment pack.
