Trump: Terror Strikes Will Happen 'More and More' Nationwide

The United States will likely see terror strikes "happen perhaps more and more all over the country" after the bomb that went off in lower Manhattan on Saturday, as "our country has been weak" on fighting back, GOP presidential nominee Donald Trump said Monday morning.

"It's a mess and it's a shame and we're going to have to be very tough," Trump told Fox News' "Fox & Friends" program. "I think maybe we'll see a big change over the last couple of days. I think this is something that maybe will happen perhaps more and more all over the country."

When one of the show's panelists asked if that means he thinks there will be "more terror strikes," Trump responded, "Yeah, because we've been weak."

"We've been letting people in [by the] tens of thousands," Trump said. "I've been saying you got to stop it. Just last week, [President Barack] Obama said you got to let more people in — 100,000. Hillary Clinton wants to increase what he's let in. He's let in thousands and thousands of people. They can't be properly vetted."

Trump told the program that he's spoken to the "best people in law enforcement," who told him there is "no way of vetting these people," and thousands are coming in.

"We have no idea what we're doing," Trump said. "Our leaders are, I don't even say weak. I say stupid."

Meanwhile, the Islamic State is "very strong" and in 28 countries, and were "started by Hillary Clinton and her policies and Obama, when they got out of Iraq, this is what happened."

"Look, they started in a small area," he continued. "Now they are in 28 countries and I listened to Obama say, 'Well, we're winning the war.' We're not winning the war. They are winning the war."

The terrorists are "sick, evil people" who want to destroy the country, he continued, but "we're afraid to say what the problem is and who they are and they don't want to say radical Islam. They don't want to talk about radical Islam. Obama won't even say the words. Neither will Hillary Clinton."

He repeated his call to get tough, and said the United States has to "hit them much harder over there, and we're going to find out. Our police are amazing."

The police knows who "a lot of these people are," he continued, but they are afraid of being accused of profiling."

"In Israel, they profile," said Trump. "They have done an unbelievable job, as good as you can do, but Israel has done an unbelievable job and they will profile. They see somebody that's suspicious. They will profile. They will take that person in and check out. Do we have a choice? Look what's going on. Do we really have a choice?"

Trump tweeted Sunday that under Obama and Clinton, Americans have experienced more attacks at home than victories abroad, and called for a change in the "playbook."

"We have to get everybody together and lead for a change," said Trump. "We're not knocking them. We're hitting them every once in a while. We're hitting them in certain places.

"We're being very gentle about it. We have to be very tough and you have other countries who are getting devastated far more than we are."

"The battle is over there," he continued. "We have to fight the battle and we can't let any more people come into this country. When we have bad ones, we have people going over fighting for ISIS and coming back. We know they are fighting for ISIS and we take them. Once you leave this country, you fight for ISIS, you never come back."

He also lambasted Clinton for ruling out putting troops on the ground in the Middle East, as that was tantamount to "giving the enemy heart."

"You are saying to the enemy we're not going to do it," said Trump. "Even if you are not going to put troops on the ground, you should never say it. She's saying that because she's desperate for votes. All you have to do is look at her poll numbers. Look, if you want weakness, she's weak."

Trump also mentioned the knife attacks in a Minnesota mall over the weekend, calling that radical Islamic terrorism.

"The guy in Minnesota is going around, screaming his words, slashing people, knifing people, viciously slashing people," said Trump. "It's crazy – how they came into the country in the first place is beyond belief.

"This is going to be like the Trojan horse. We're letting tens of thousands of people flow into this country... in many cases this is cancer from within."
