Republican nominee Donald Trump realizes that despite his improvement in the polls he has little chance to win the November election, but he already has a plan ready for the day after – to create his own television media venture, The Washington Examiner reports.
Trump, having galvanized a large movement of passionate and fed-up voters, will after losing the election exploit a potentially profitable business opportunity by setting up a media venture to continue the fight against Hillary Clinton, a well-informed Trump insider told the paper.
Trump will utilize his skill as a marketing specialist to reposition his message to tens of millions of disappointed American voters by starting a "right-wing media outlet of his own, a cable channel and digital-media platform based on the Trump brand," according to Fortune.
This outlet would continue to hound Clinton as she becomes president and harp on her every move, much as has been done during the campaign. There is not expected to be any lack of subjects for scrutiny, as with any presidency, especially since her husband Bill Clinton will reportedly have a role in the new administration.
The Examiner notes this would make any right wing news outlet that knows what the public wants salivate at the ratings it could achieve by continuing the same tactic of trying to delegitimize Clinton, as well as spreading fear and mistrust of her abilities and intentions.
The idea of Trump starting a new media venture seems buttressed by reports that Roger Ailes, who was forced to step down as Fox News chairman and CEO due to sexual harassment allegations, is advising Trump on campaign media strategy.
This speculation also makes sense considering that former Breitbart News Chairman Stephen Bannon was recently named as CEO of his presidential campaign.
