Plantar warts are notoriously resistant to treatment, but with persistence you can clear them.

It’s best to remove them early before they grow larger (and deeper). I like to debride them (removing the dead skin from them, which is painless), then destroy them with liquid nitrogen or a cryoprobe.

It’s not unusual to need a couple retreatments to entirely get rid of them.

Other options include removing them with an electric current (which needs anesthesia locally), or debridement and an application of topical Aldara three times a week for several weeks.

Salicyclic-acid patches are alternatives many have tried before they decide to see me, so you need to judge this for yourself.
