A Russian man declared “dead” was actually just very drunk and woke up in a hospital morgue.

According to the newspaper Khasanskiye Vesti, the man passed out while partying with friends and first responders thought he was dead and brought him to a morgue, the New York Post reports.

But he woke up hours later, confused and frightened about being locked in a cold room filled with dead bodies, police said.

He banged on the door until he was found and released. He then reportedly went to the home where he’d been drinking with friends, and found them mourning his death.

At least one of his pals fainted when his walking-dead friend walked into the room, and the somber gathering turned into a celebration.
