Sandra Lee, television host and longtime companion of Gov. Andrew M. Cuomo of New York, had a double mastectomy this week, just days after disclosing she had breast cancer.
In a statement Cuomo said Lee was “doing as well as can be expected,”
The New York Times reports.
Updates on Lee, who hosts cooking shows on the Food Network, were posted on her Facebook page, indicating she was “grateful the surgery is completed.”
Ms. Lee, 48, announced in a television interview last week that she was diagnosed with breast cancer in late March after a routine mammogram but that it was in the early stages.
