A Pennsylvania Democrat who hasn't yet decided whether to support landmark healthcare legislation says he won't let politics or pressure determine which way he'll vote.
But in an interview Thursday, Rep. Jason Altmire said he still has concerns about the costs involved in overhauling the medical delivery system. Altmire said on ABC's "Good Morning America" that he still needs "to see better cost containment than was in previous versions of the bill." A critical issue is "changing the trajectory" of spiraling health costs across the country, he said.
Asked whether he felt an obligation to vote for it to support President Obama, the Pittsburgh congressman replied, "I'm not worried about the political implications of this."
