Cain Calls Former Speaker Pelosi 'Princess Nancy'

ROCHESTER, Mich. — Republican presidential candidate Herman Cain called House Minority Leader "Princess Nancy," although he later expressed regret for doing so.

During the GOP debate here Wednesday night, Cain said Nancy Pelosi blocked any effort when she was speaker of the House to repeal Democrats' healthcare overhaul, legislation she helped marshal through.

"You didn't hear about it in the previous Congress because Princess Nancy sent it to committee and it stayed there," Cain said.

When a CNBC interviewer questioned Cain about the tastefulness of the comment after the debate in light of the sexual harassment claims four women have lodged against him, Cain said, "That was a statement that I obviously should not have made, but I was trying to make a point."

On Twitter, the former pizza executive had repeated the "Princess Nancy" label as the debate continued.
