I recently saw an article posted on a website and couldn’t agree more with the author’s premise as some states , including my home state of New York , consider relaxing the laws with respect to late-term abortions.

I was watching Fox News, when an image of President Barack Obama delivering a message flashed on the screen for a mere second. The clip was gone no sooner than it appeared, but it was enough for me to catch it: “I run not on what I have done, but on what I will do.”

I am going to say something I know may not be popular with the readers. I spent half of my life in Stalin’s Russia. I was born there, got married there, and I never knew what the television set looks like.

Am I to believe that I have wasted 40 years of my life in this country trying to explain the nature of dictatorship and what it meant to have been born and lived in Stalin’s paradise the first half of my life?
