Sen. Rick Scott, R-Fla., blasted critics for questioning whether the U.S. was partially to blame for the crash of the Ukrainian jetliner in Iran.

Video verified as authentic appeared to show the moment when an Iranian missile struck the passenger plane near the airport in Tehran.

Western leaders said it appeared the jet was unintentionally hit by a surface-to-air missile just hours after Iran launched ballistic missiles at the U.S. bases in Iraq.

Scott made his comments on Twitter Friday afternoon.

He wrote: "The Left (in the US and Canada) and the media have decided to blame America and @realDonaldTrump for this tragedy. How shameful.

“If reports are accurate, Iran, and Iran alone, has a lot do answer for.
