Obama-Farrakhan Photo Shows Liberal Hypocrisy Abounds

Obama-Farrakhan Photo Shows Liberal Hypocrisy Abounds

Reports last week that a purposely concealed photograph had just surfaced of a grinning then-Senator Barack Obama cozied up next to controversial Nation of Islam leader Louis Farrakhan at a 2005 event sponsored by the Congressional Black Caucus (CNC), shouldn’t have come as a shock to anyone who appreciates liberal hypocrisy.

The pathetic explanation from photojournalist Askia Muhammad that he buried the photo, at the behest of the CBC, for fear that it might impact the electorate in the event Obama sought higher office, damningly cements the notion that many in the media pick horses and act as activists instead of neutral and detached recorders of events.

Muhammad appeared nonplussed and untroubled as he related to the Trice Edney News Wire that the image “absolutely would have made a difference” if made public during the 2008 campaign.

Wow...

Am I the only one struck by the carefree, indifferent, and brazenly unapologetic position of a supposed “journalist?”

Donald Trump made inexcusable remarks that failed to unequivocally and unconditionally condemn David Duke during the 2016 campaign and in the wake of the shameful bigotry and racism on display in Charlottesville last August.

He was rightfully blasted and justly pilloried for it.

Now, replace the 2005 Obama photo participants with a Tea Party gathering that conjoined candidate Trump with David Duke. The Left would have their irrefutable “smoking gun” that the current president is an avowed “racist.”

But Obama’s association with Farrakhan apparently troubles few outside of the conservative echo chambers. This purposeful photo concealment, in the eyes of the MSM, was not journalistic malpractice.

And so we are clear here, Muhammad, and his CBC puppeteers, fully ascribe to the notion that anything and everything should have been done to see their preferred candidate elected.

Even if it meant suppressing a damning photograph with Farrakhan.

That is the definition of journalistic malpractice.

Remember, Farrakhan has a history of inflammatory speeches and screeds.

Farrakhan’s most infamous utterances deride Jews. His hatred and bigotry have been tolerated by some on the Left because, well, you can’t be black and racist. Racism, they believe, can only be a condition if you are the “race in power.”

Balderdash.

As if that wasn’t enough discomforting news of the liberal mainstream media’s inherent bias, well, she’s baaaaaaaack.

Jaw-dropping news hit that Hillary Clinton had reportedly shielded a male campaign adviser accused of harassing a young female staffer — who was subsequently reassigned — and had also worked for her 2008 presidential effort.

This, yet another sad revelation from a politician who touts herself as a champion for women’s rights and causes, yet spent decades excusing her husband’s boorish behavior and virulently attacking his accusers.

Clinton, forever adorned in an apparent Teflon suit of impenetrable political armor, then solidly double downed with her own Trumpian coarse language utterances — “activist b****** supporting b******” — and, along with several A-List celebrities, a bizarre recitation from the widely discredited Trump White House tell-all, “Fire and Fury,” at last night’s Grammys Award Show.

Unfamiliar with that piece of printed dreck by author Michael “If it rings true, it is true” Wolff?

Well, one of the more salacious insinuations he makes is that UN Ambassador Nikki Haley might have spent private time in the aft end of Air Force One canoodling (or worse) with the current president.

Ahh, #TimesUp, right, liberal America? Women are no longer to be “slut shamed” or smeared, slurred, or otherwise treated differently than men.

Unless they are adherents to conservatism, of course.

And, so the Obama-Farrakhan photo suppression story and the Hillary Clinton “it’s only acceptable if she does it” stories are par for the course.

John Podhoretz, who writes for the New York Post, tweeted it best last night:

"Let’s get this straight. Michael Wolff retails disgusting rumors re Nikki Haley. His book is read on Grammys. Haley says it ruined the show for her. And mainstream media people – who know the book is unreliable – attack HER. And then they want people to think they’re not biased."

We get it.

Let’s stipulate that most who enter the journalism trade are liberals and vote Democrat in elections. But have we shed, finally, the pretend veneer of impartiality and unbiased reporting — bereft of fear or favor — once and for all?

Liberal hypocrisy is nothing new. It’s pervasive in today’s society. As long as you hew to progressive political aims, you may be forgiven sins and transgressions for which conservatives will be tarred and feathered.

It’s why Roman Polanski gets movie award show love from principled feminist attendees.

It’s why Biden and Reid can say things about an African-American member of their caucus that a member of the GOP would be rightly chided for.

It’s why Alec Baldwin can be, well, Alec Baldwin.

It’s why a former KKK member representing West Virginia in the U.S. Senate can be “reformed.”

It’s why Hollywood purposely ignored — for decades — the pervasive stories of Harvey Weinstein’s depravity. And now leaps to wear black evening gowns and white corsages as a means to highlight their epiphany of “revulsion.”

And it’s why Obama and Clinton continue to be treated far differently than Trump and Ryan.

We can continue to rightfully demand diversity in all things in 2018 America … except thought and how we often cover the news.

And it’s why a friend in the media business once confided in me: “Get over it, Jimmy. Water is wet, and journalists are Democrats.”

Yawn.
