1. Kathy Ireland's Pro-Life Stance Raises Hollywood's Ire

Kathy Ireland, best known for gracing the cover of Sports Illustrated's annual swimsuit edition, is not making many friends these days in Hollywood.

Although she is now a mega-successful businesswoman, she has also chosen to be a powerful voice for the right to life position. This apparently hasn't sat too well with certain Tinseltown residents.

Like so many others with a pro-life perspective, Ireland previously considered herself to be pro-choice. That changed when one day she took the initiative of examining the all-important issue of when human life actually begins.

The medical books of her husband, Dr. Greg Olsen, would prove to be invaluable. So would her determination to pursue the truth.

"I spoke to top scientists throughout our country asking, 'Would you please just show me some shred of evidence that the unborn is not a human being?' and no one has been able to show me any," Ireland told Fox News.

Recently, Ireland took to Capitol Hill to request that Congress stop funding the biggest abortion provider in the country, Planned Parenthood.

She said, "To force people who don't agree with some of the practices, I don't believe in that. I don't think taxpayers need to fund something as controversial as [Planned Parenthood]."

Ireland, who has had numerous acting roles in television and film, shared that her pro-life position has angered many colleagues, adding that she "never set out to win a popularity contest."

Undeterred, she is committed to her cause.

"I will continue to fight for those human rights until someone can show me otherwise," Ireland said. "So a lot of people get mad at me, but that's OK. I listen to criticism because sometimes there are things to learn, even if it's wrapped in a nasty package."

2. Larry Flynt Springs Senseless Attack on Palin, Son

Larry Flynt has a long history of debasing the culture with his Hustler magazine. Now the porn peddler has made it personal with some horribly insensitive and ignorant remarks insulting former GOP vice presidential candidate Sarah Palin and her son Trig.

Flynt told London Independent reporter Johann Hari that Palin "did a disservice to every woman in America" in giving birth to Trig because "she knew from the first month of pregnancy that kid was going to be Down's [sic] Syndrome. It's brain dead. A virtual vegetable."

After these breathtaking assertions, the smut supplier accused Palin of exploiting her son.

"She carries it to all these different political events against abortion, she did it just because she didn't want to say she'd had an abortion. How long is it going to live? Another 12, 15 years? Doesn't even know it's in this world," Flynt said. "So what kind of compassionate conservative is she? I don't think anybody will want her near the White House."

Evidently the reporter was so rattled he was unable to respond.

"I am so thrown by the unpleasantness of all this I don't even interject," Hari wrote.

3. Miley Cyrus Gets Snide About Rick Santorum

The last time Miley Cyrus made headlines it involved a bong. This time around the former Disney star is weighing in on the 2012 GOP presidential campaign.

Cyrus used her Twitter account to slam White House hopeful Rick Santorum.

Already unhappy with Urban Outfitters because of allegations that the store may have copied jewelry designs, the tween pop star tweeted her additional displeasure upon learning that the firm's president had given money to the Santorum campaign.

"'IF WE ALLOW GAY MARRIAGE NEXT THING U KNOW PEOPLE WILL BE MARRYING GOLD FISH' — Rick Santorum UO [Urban Outfitters] contributed $13,000 to this mans campaign," Cyrus posted, with a quote attributed to the former U.S. senator.

In another double derogatory whammy, she tweeted, "Not only do they [Urban Outfitters] steal from artists but every time you give them money you help finance a campaign against gay equality."

Santorum is expected to formally launch his campaign this coming week. Now in addition to the hostile mainstream media he will have to deal with Miley's 1.1 million Twitter followers.

One saving grace for Santorum's budding campaign is that most of her fans are too young to pull a lever.

4. Palin's 'One Nation' Tour Launch Keeps Folks Guessing

"I have fire in my belly," Sarah Palin said recently on Fox News after "On the Record" host Greta Van Susteren asked her about running for president.

So is she or isn't she?

The former Alaska governor clearly got the attention of the media and the public as she launched her "One Nation" tour.

If the former GOP vice presidential candidate does attempt a run for the White House, her unconventional image at the Rolling Thunder motorcycle rally for veterans will be looked back upon as a true Hollywood moment.

Straddling a Harley Davidson in the parking lot of the Pentagon and sporting black leather with a helmet and sunglasses, she evoked images of Marlon Brando's "The Wild One," only with a feminine twist.

When someone inquired as to whether Palin was making a run for the presidency, she responded, 'I don't know yet," according to Fox News.

No one knows for certain if she is running, planning on helping out her political soul mates who are running, or if something else is afoot.

Still, there are some interesting hints. She recently hired veteran political consultant Michael Glassner as her chief of staff. She brought back two former staffers who worked for President George W. Bush, Jason Recher and Doug McMarlin.

Most significant is the fact that Palin's bus tour bears a striking resemblance to presidential campaigns of the past. The final stops happen to be three politically significant and historically familiar locations: New Hampshire, South Carolina, and Iowa.

5. Democratic Rep. Weiner Denies Link to Racy Twitter Photo

It's a typical day in Hollywood.

Producers are busy scrambling for material similar to the record-breaking box-office champ of the three-day weekend, "The Hangover Part II."

Anthony Weiner, one of New York's Democratic U.S. House members, is very active on Twitter, having approximately 45,000 followers.

One of the people Weiner follows back is 21-year-old college student Gennette Nicole Cordova, who lives in Seattle, Wash.

On the Friday night prior to Memorial Day weekend, a tweet went out addressed to Cordova that appeared to be from Weiner. The tweet was linked to an offensive photo of a man in his briefs.

Because Weiner and Cordova followed each other, Twitter messages could have been exchanged privately; however, this one was public.

Incidentally, on April 9, Cordova had tweeted, "I wonder what my boyfriend @RepWeiner is up to."

The tweet with the offensive photo was removed about four minutes after it had been posted. Weiner's Twitter account was soon inundated with posts from the congressman, stating that his Facebook account had been hacked.

An hour later Weiner posted that his Twitter account had also been hacked.

The link in the offensive tweet, which had been placed in Weiner's public Twitter feed, was connected to his private photo sharing account on yfrog.com.

Weiner and his staff say that they are investigating the matter. The congressman has hired a lawyer to research civil or criminal charges against the perpetrator(s).

The news media even provided a title right out of the "Hangover" genre, dubbing the story "Weinergate."
