The White House has banned Trump administration officials from attending the annual White House Correspondents Association dinner this Saturday.

Many of them — albeit off the record — are making their disappointment and disagreement with this ban known to reporters.

"If you need a date to the WHCD since the administration were told they can't go, I'm your gal," the wife of a top administration official emailed this reporter Saturday (the day after the ban was announced).

A husband-and-wife team of mid-level administration officials also made clear they were not sold on the virtue of being kept from associating with the press at the event that was once dubbed "Washington's answer to the Oscars."

"Hmmm . . . mixed feelings," one of them wrote Newsmax. "Keep [us] in mind for any Saturday after party festivities."

This is the third year in a row President Donald Trump has refused to attend the White House Correspondents Association dinner.
