America Is in a Cold Revolutionary War More Than a Cold Civil War

Most Americans know the basics of each event from our history, but I think many never took the time to consider the difference.

The Civil War was not about individuals rebelling against their oppressor. Although the prevalent belief is that the fight was over slavery, it was more about states’ rights. The Southern states believed that since slavery was not yet prohibited by the Constitution, they could continue its practice. President Lincoln was following one the core beliefs of our country, stated unequivocally in our Declaration of Independence that “All men are created equal.” The Civil War was fought to support freedoms for a group of people living in the United States, but those freedoms for the rest of the nation were never under threat.

The Revolutionary War was started and fought to remove the shackles of an oppressor who valued neither individual rights nor freedoms. King George considered every person living in the Colonies to merely be a subject to the Crown. The freedoms that were desired were non-existent.

Americans had no representation. Americans had no basic rights. What they did have was plenty of both taxation and British soldiers who were the King's enforcers. The Crown didn’t understand that the tighter you squeeze people who want to be free, the more those people slip out of your grasp. The final straw to start the Revolutionary War was an attempt to disarm the colonists, trying to make them totally incapable to resist the King’s forces.

Democrats and their big government loving supporters should take note of the previous line. Our Founding Fathers knew how important it was to keep firearms and weaponry in the hands of American citizens. It guarantees freedom and provides recourse from any attempted tyranny.

We, the People, will not allow you to take our guns. We’ve already accepted too many regulations and restrictions in the past century, despite the clearly stated words, “Shall not be infringed.”

We, the People, will not allow you to remove our duly elected president with illegal deep-state tactics.

We, the People, will not tolerate your continuous suppression of our freedom of speech with unconstitutional laws and political correctness.

We, the People, recognize your corruption of “freedom of the press” by partnering with them ideologically.

We, the People, see your disregard of religious freedom, primarily by attacking all things Christian.

We, the People, know how you monitor modern-day communications, ignoring the Fourth Amendment.

Philosopher George Santayana stated, "Those who cannot remember the past are condemned to repeat it.” If the left doesn’t pay attention and remember why and how this country was founded, 1776 may occur again.

The modern-day Tories prefer to live as loyalists to those governing them. They entrust that their responsibilities, needs, and desires will be provided by those who would also suppress their rights. A government big enough to give you everything is also big enough to take everything away from you.

Thomas Jefferson observed, “The natural progress of things is for liberty to yield and government to gain ground." American patriots merely want to regain control of our government and strip it of the vast powers that it’s been granting itself for decades. Most of that power belongs in the hands of citizens, both individually and collectively.

That thought, my friends, has become Revolutionary once more.
