New York City Mayor Bill de Blasio is planning to roll out a government funded plan to guarantee every New York City resident comprehensive healthcare, regardless of immigration status or one's ability to pay.

According to a local NBC network affiliate’s report, the guaranteed healthcare will include “primary and specialty care, from pediatrics to OBGYN, geriatric, mental health and other services.”

Amongst the city's roughly 600,000 uninsured that will be guaranteed such care are an estimated 300,000 so-called undocumented New Yorkers — i.e., illegal aliens.

"This has never been done in the country in a comprehensive way," Mayor de Blasio said on MSNBC. "Health care isn't just a right in theory, it must be a right in practice. And we're doing that here in this city."

Overall, the program is estimated to cost $100 million per year.

New York City is already a declared sanctuary city. In 2017, New York’s City Council passed legislation known as Introduction 1568-2017, which prevents any New York City resources, property, or information from being used to cooperate with federal authorities in enforcing the nation’s immigration laws.

In other words, taxes paid by New York City residents such as myself cannot be used to help stem the tide of illegal immigration.

“We will not waste city resources to help immigration authorities destroy our families,” said then Council Speaker Melissa Mark-Viverito.

However, the protectors of illegal immigrants are perfectly happy to risk the lives of families of New York City citizens and legal immigrants by handcuffing the ability of the police to help federal law enforcement agents remove illegal aliens with existing criminal records from our city and country. To the contrary, New York City taxpayers are being required to help foot the bill for illegal immigrants’ legal costs in contesting deportation orders and immigration charges.

To make matters even worse, more illegal immigrants will now be attracted to New York City because they will have free healthcare at taxpayers’ expense, thanks to Mayor Bill de Blasio’s expensive social experiment in universal healthcare.

"We also have a way to provide direct health care to a lot of our neighbors who happen to be undocumented,” Mayor de Blasio said. “They're still part of our community. They need health care; their families need health care."

New York City taxpayers are burdened by a city income tax on top of New York State and federal income taxes they must pay. Add to those taxes city sales and property taxes. At the same time, New York City’s infrastructure is falling apart, and the quality of its public services is deteriorating. Mayor de Blasio should look out for the legal residents of the city who are footing the bill before extending more expensive taxpayer funded benefits to illegal aliens.
