Life imitates art. "The Manchurian Candidate" was a 1962 political thriller that depicted an American soldier who was captured during the Korean War. He was brainwashed to later assassinate a political figure as part of an international Communist conspiracy.

In this case former Vice President Joe Biden wasn't brainwashed — he's a willing participant. And the assassination isn't of a political figure but of the United States.

Biden will most certainly reverse the Trump administration's policy of holding the Chinese Communist Party responsible for its past misdeeds, either by underestimating the threat that China presents, or out of a desire for monetary gain. He'll allow China to increase its influence on the United States and would permit manufacturing to migrate back to China, taking American jobs with it.

Biden joked in 2013 that he'd asked Chinese President Xi Jinping to help him in his own quest to become president. Although said in jest, seven years later the U.S. intelligence community believes that the joke had become fact.

National Counterintelligence and Security Center (NCSC) Director William Evanina stated his belief in August that both China and Iran were actively supporting the former vice president's bid to defeat President Trump.

And why not? The Chinese Communist Party no doubt noted Biden's statement last year at an Iowa event that China's "not bad folks." Biden even absolved China of all responsibility for the worldwide coronavirus pandemic in September, despite all evidence to the contrary.

He said instead that "what the American people really need to understand: all pain and suffering stems from President Trump's failure to lead."

China and Iran both long for the good ol' days of the Obama administration, when China had free rein, and Iran was delivered pallets of cash.

Last week, China Foreign Minister Wang Yi told U.S. senior executives, including from General Motors, Caterpillar and Visa, that he hopes for less U.S. "interference" in Chinese affairs in the coming years.

"The most urgent task at the moment is that both sides should work together and remove all kinds of interference, to achieve a smooth transition of China-U.S. relations," Wang said, according to CNBC.

And China believes that a Biden administration would give them exactly that.

This was confirmed by Di Dongsheng, vice dean of the School of International Relations at Renmin University of China, during a lecture he gave well after November's general election.

Di's lecture included references to the Biden family, including Joe Biden, and he was optimistic about China's ability to thrive under an incoming Biden administration.

"During the U.S.-China trade war, [Wall Street] tried to help, and I know that my friends on the U.S. side told me that they tried to help, but they couldn't do much. But now we're seeing Biden was elected, the traditional elite, the political elite, the establishment, they're very close to Wall Street, so you see that, right?" Di asked the audience.

Reverting to the days of "the political elite" in Biden's case would mean not just allowing the Chinese government to once again run roughshod over American interests, it would also allegedly enrich the Biden family.

In December 2013, Hunter Biden accompanied his father, then the vice president, aboard Air Force Two to China — Joe on an official state visit; Hunter to meet with future Chinese business partners. According to Peter Schweizer, Joe greased the skids for his son by meeting with Hunter's future Chinese partners days before they established a new investment firm.

That new firm raised $1 billion, backed by the state-owned Bank of China.

But the extent of Joe's interest in his son's business wasn't revealed until October, when the contents of Hunter's laptop computer came to light. It was left at a shop for repair but never picked up.

One email disclosed how profits from a venture would be distributed, which included 10% for the "big guy." Former Hunter Biden business associate Tony Bobulinski confirmed in an interview that Joe Biden was the "big guy."

"I one thousand percent sit here and know that the big guy is referencing Joe Biden. That's crystal clear to me because I lived it. I met with the former vice president in person multiple times, and I had been meeting and talking with Hunter Biden and Jim Biden and Rob Walker and James Gilliar," Bobulinski said.

Joe Biden's financial interest in his son's affairs have reportedly been ongoing. A newly-revealed email, dated Sept. 21, 2017, refers to his father, his stepmother Jill Biden, his uncle Jim Biden, and his Chinese business partner all as "office mates" in his Washington, D.C., office, and requested that keys be made available to each.

Today, the Electoral College meets to officially elect the president. Biden is expected to receive 306 votes; Trump, 232.

Assuming that holds until the January 20 Inauguration Day, the Manchurian President will be sleeping in White House that night.
