Since his debut on March 24, 1994, the radio airwaves have never been the same.
Dr. Michael Savage, a 2016 inductee into the National Radio Hall of Fame and multimedia icon in the conservative movement, is heard by more than 20 million listeners a week on “The Savage Nation” and syndicated across the U.S. in more than 300 markets. He is also the author of over 25 books, including several New York Times best-sellers.
His passion to unearth the truth about liberalism, borders, language, and culture, and his unparalleled stand for America’s families, has made him the most important figure in the fight for free speech and ideals in America today. In 2007, Talkers Magazine awarded Savage with the publication's annual "Freedom of Speech Award," and he accepted it with a pre-recorded speech.
Throughout his years in the medium, Savage has challenged the industry mold by combining timely political content with the real-life issues including health, science, religion, culture, and more.
Savage’s unique ability to connect with listeners is a hallmark of his program. Some of his most memorable interviews and callers include inventor of the neutron bomb Samuel Cohen and Joe, a man who considered taking his own life before Savage dissuaded him and sent him $20,000.
"The Savage Nation," airing daily from 3 p.m.–6 p.m. EST, has become one of the country’s most-listened-to talk radio programs and the top streaming show online. Over the past two decades, the program has evolved from strictly politics to commentary on news and other hot topics. He’s able to incorporate free-association and weave a tapestry of words that no other host in talk radio can match.
Savage is the only member of the U.S. media ever blacklisted and banned from a Western nation. His ban from visiting Britain in June 2009 has made him the “poster child” for free speech, not only for Americans concerned about the cultural shift towards totalitarianism and their rights to freedom of expression, but for people around the globe. In mid-2009, this worldwide media attention concerning the ban resulted in a New Yorker magazine profile of him.
Through his platform, Savage has championed a number of causes, changing lives as well as public policy. Showing non-partisanship, he sided with Chuck Schumer in stopping President Bush from making the horrific Dubai ports deal to stop possible Muslim control of our ports of entry, risking threats of terror. Savage regularly donated money toward the legal defense of the Marines accused of murdering civilians in Haditha, Iraq.
In April 25, 2007, he pledged $1 for each copy of "Healing Children Naturally" and "Reducing the Risk of Alzheimer's" purchased from his website to be donated to the U.S. Marines Defense Fund. The Marines were ultimately found not guilty. In November 2014, Dr. Savage helped reunite a wounded soldier with his K-9 partner as well as purchasing the veteran an SUV at a cost of $20,000.
Savage announced that he had sent another $50,000 to aid in the defense of First Lieutenant Michael Behenna, who has been sentenced to 15 years in prison for murdering alleged terrorist Ali Mansur Mohammed while serving in Iraq with the 101st Airborne Division in 2008.
Savage had previously given $50,000 to Behenna's defense from the Savage Legal Defense Fund and his own personal contributions. In July 2015, Savage announced the five winners of his essay contest based on the question "What Does It Mean to Be an American?" The college students each received a $20,000 scholarship over a two-year period.
Writing the books “Government Zero,” “Scorched Earth,” “Stop the Coming Civil War,” and rooting the show in Borders, Language, and Culture, Savage developed an agenda that President Donald Trump ran, and was eventually elected on.
Instead of proudly taking credit for these accomplishments, it was at this time that Savage chose to thank and acknowledge his Creator. His search for truth and glimpses of God culminated in his most intimate work to date “God, Faith, and Reason.”
Dr. Savage holds a master’s degree in medical botany and a second in medical anthropology. Additionally, he earned his PhD. from the University of California at Berkeley in epidemiology and nutrition sciences. He is an ardent conservationist, is dedicated to his family and is a proud patriot of his country.
His sarcasm, humor, and all around theatricality separates him from the flat world that has become talk radio. Some call him the modern-day Voltaire.
Michael Savage's latest book "God, Faith, and Reason" is now available on Amazon.
In 2016, after 22 years on the air, Michael Savage was inducted into the National Radio Hall of Fame, an honor he calls “the capstone of my life.” The Savage Nation, the country’s number one streaming radio show, is one of the top programs in America, with millions of listeners and broadcast on more than 230 stations, including WABC and KSFO. A prolific New York Times best-selling author, Dr. Savage has been profiled in Playboy and The New Yorker, and he has been awarded the Freedom of Speech Award by Talkers magazine. He received his PhD in epidemiology and nutrition sciences from the University of California at Berkeley. To read more of his reports — Click Here Now.
