The nation's top intelligence agencies are trying to find the person who gave the information to WikiLeaks that exposed how the agency taps into smartphones, smart TVs and computer systems, CBS News reports.

The CIA and FBI are focusing on either an employee or contractor who would have been one of the relatively few people who have access to the top-secret information.

Despite the top secret nature of the information, several hundred people have access to it, and investigators currently are going over that list, CBS reported Wednesday on "The CBS Evening News."

CIA Director Mike Pompeo slammed WikiLeaks last week, saying, "It is time to call out WikiLeaks for what it really is: A non-state hostile intelligence service often abetted by state actors like Russia."

WikiLeaks has said it did not get the information from Russia or any other state actor, but from former contractors for U.S. intelligence.
