The union representing air traffic controllers is suing President Donald Trump over the partial government shutdown, Politico is reporting.

The National Air Traffic Controllers Association named Trump and several FAA officials as defendants and claimed the administration is “depriving (air traffic controllers) of their hard-earned compensation without the “requisite due process.”

Politico said the controllers are required to work without pay during the shutdown. Many have worked overtime during the shutdown and haven’t been compensated, as well.

"Defendants’ unlawful failure to pay plaintiffs and those similarly situated has and continues to have a devastating effect on those devoted federal employees’ lives," the union said in the suit.

Other federal employees’ unions already have filed a lawsuit over the shutdown, including the National Treasury Employees Union and the American Federation of Government Employees, according to The Hill.

In addition, the union that represents TSA agents, has also sued, according to Politico.
