Alabama Republican Senate candidate Roy Moore is widening his lead over Democrat Dough Jones ahead of a Dec. 12 special election, a new poll shows.

The Montgomery, Ala.-based Raycom News Network survey by Strategy Research showed 50 percent of likely voters back Moore, while 43 percent are behind Jones. Four percent were undecided and 3 percent indicated plans to write in a candidate, the poll found.

The poll's margin of error is plus or minus 2 percentage points.

Among Republicans, 75 percent said they would vote for Moore, while 12 percent of GOP voters said they would vote for Moore. Among Democrats, 87 percent said they would vote for Jones.

Strategy Research pollster Jon Gray told Fox affiliate WBRC that Moore's support has stabilized after slipping in the wake of sexual misconduct allegations last month.

"A lot of momentum coming in on Roy Moore's side," Gray said. "I think we're starting to see a change in the vote from a few weeks ago when Roy Moore was really losing Republicans across the board."
