Jordan understands far better how to fight the Islamic State (ISIS) than the Obama administration, retired Lt. Col. Allen West said Tuesday on Fox News Channel's
"Hannity."
West appeared on Tuesday's show just as it was being reported that Jordan had began executing prisoners it holds who were members of the Islamic State. The executions were hastily moved up after a video was released Tuesday of a captured Jordanian pilot
being burned alive and his body being crushed with building materials.
West contrasted the swift retaliation with the Obama administration sending Secretary of State John Kerry and singer James Taylor to France several days after a unity rally attended by more than 40 world leaders, but not by President Barack Obama.
"The only way you can deal with savage, barbaric animals is to be tough and ruthless," West said.
Jordan's King Abdullah II, Egyptian President Abdel Fattah el-Sisi and Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu understand that, West said.
All three have strong military backgrounds, he said.
"You have an airborne commando that leads Israel, you have an American-trained special officer that leads Jordan, and you have a former Egyptian military general that leads in Egypt," West said. "They understand the enemy and how you have to fight them."
