Angelina Jolie has not ruled out a move into politics — and has joked that she might be tough enough to take the rough and tumble that comes with it.
The American actress and U.N. envoy told BBC radio she "can take a lot on the chin" — a possible reference to her bitter divorce from Brad Pitt.
After saying, "So for now, I will stick quiet" in the political world, Jolie was pressed by her interviewer to elaborate.
"If you asked me 20 years ago, I would have laughed. I really don't know. I always say I will go where I am needed...
"I am a patriot but I am also an internationalist and I love and value other people and other countries," she said. "To be a patriot is to be very proud of your country and even your country first but you do not think your country is better than others."
Jolie is a special envoy for the U.N. refugee agency. She used her slot as a "guest editor" on the BBC to highlight refugee issues in the Middle East.
She also included Chinese artist Ai Weiwei and Nobel Peace Prize winner Denis Mukwege on the show.
