Donald Trump's presidential campaign continues to strengthen even though he's the target of media attacks more "ferocious" than those aimed at such controversial figures as Richard Nixon, Barry Goldwater or Joe McCarthy, Ann Coulter tells Newsmax TV.
"For the past month, we have seen the polls tightening [with] Trump either catching up, tying, or even in a few polls, ahead of Hillary Clinton," Coulter, one of the nation's most outspoken conservative pundits, told J.D. Hayworth on "Newsmax Prime."
"And this is after the most relentless, ferocious, unified media attack on Donald Trump as certainly I've seen in my lifetime and I've read about what they did to Joe McCarthy, Richard Nixon, and Barry Goldwater and I think it's worse than that."

Coulter, author of "In Trump We Trust: E Pluribus Awesome!" published by Sentinel, was referring to the McCarthy, the Communist-hunting senator; Nixon, who resigned the presidency over Watergate; and Goldwater, the GOP's ultra-conservative presidential nominee defeated by Lyndon Johnson.
Coulter told Hayworth the press began hounding Trump from the moment he launched his campaign last year to capture the Republican presidential nomination.
"From Day One, Trump has been compared to [Adolf] Hitler [and former Ku Klux Klan Imperial Wizard] David Duke," she said.
"His speeches since the convention and including the convention speech have been absolutely fabulous is the media won't show you those speeches … Those speeches have been fantastic. But you turn on TV at night and they're never actually showing the speeches."
"It's [the] various anchors on all the networks — but Newsmax — saying, 'trust us, it was an awful speech.'"
The media, Coulter adds, "does seem to just simply not care about its credibility" this election season.
"They've just decided it doesn't matter, the American people already don't trust us, let's just throw away that last bit of trust. It does concern me because [their] propaganda does work and even people who hate the media, when they hear the same thing over and over and over again....
"They lie about what Trump said about John McCain, they lie about Trump making fun of the disabled reporter, the lies are just so pervasive, so repetitive."
