Former White House communications director Anthony Scaramucci said President Donald Trump’s biggest mistake was hiring former Republican National Committee chairman Reince Priebus as his chief of staff.
“The biggest mistake that the president made in his presidency was his first hire when he hired Reince Priebus, who didn’t really like him, who tried to stop him from getting the nomination…, Scaramucci said Tuesday on CNN’s “New Day.”
“He flooded the zone with (Republican National Committee) staffers. He flooded the zone with establishment people. They didn’t want the president’s disruptive, insurgent personality to do anything that would disrupt what was going on inside of Washington. You had a team of vipers that was trying to slow down the president.”
The Washington Examiner reported Scaramucci was hired at the White House in 2017 in an effort to push Priebus out. After Priebus was gone, Trump’s next chief of staff John Kelly fired Scaramucci.
