A spokesman for freshman Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez, D-N.Y., is ignoring questions about whether she lives in the district she represents, the New York Post reported.
"We will not be commenting," Ocasio-Cortez's spokesman Corbin Trent told the Post in response to four questions, including "Where does the congresswoman live?"
Unlike New York's three other freshman House members, Rep. Ocasio-Cortez, 29, has no district office or local phone number and has not opened a local office, according to the report.
The Post's report details reporter's inquiries being dodged by staffers and locals who do not recall seeing AOC in their neighborhoods, including next-door neighbors.
"Ocasio-Cortez has used her deceased father's Bronx condo on her voter registration since 2012, and even posed in the one-bedroom Bronx flat for celebrity photographer Annie Leibovitz in a Vogue magazine profile after her stunning November election, but The Post could find little indication she continues to live there," the Post's report read.
Also, according to the Post, AOC had mistakenly planned to run for Congress in the neighboring District 15 before correcting her error days later.
Rep. Ocasio-Cortez has rented an apartment in chic Washington-area neighborhood in a building that might be breaking local law by not offering affordable unit to low-income residents – the people AOC has claimed she serves – the Washington Examiner reported.
