Ocasio-Cortez Calls CBP 'Rogue Agency'

Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez, D-N.Y. blasted Customs and Border Protection on Tuesday, calling it a “rogue agency.”

She made her comments in a Tuesday morning tweet. They came after it was reported that a private Facebook group consisting of current and former Border Patrol agents is said to have mocked the deaths of migrants and posted sexist and racist jokes, including posts about Ocasio-Cortez. ProPublica first reported on the group, which has about 9,500 members and was created about three years ago.

Ocasio-Cortez wrote:  “When you pair: - 9,500 current + former CBP officers are part of a violently racist & sexually violent secret Facebook group - Corroborating accounts of abuse - CBP couldn’t control their own officers for a Congressional tour.

“What else do you call that but a rogue agency?”
