New Jersey Gov. Chris Christie opted not to "dump" nachos on a heckler at a baseball game last week, telling reporters Wednesday he was "very restrained," as reported by Politico.
Christie was in Milwaukee at a Brewers game over the weekend when a Cubs fan yelled his name and shouted, "you suck." Christie, at first, paid him no mind, but the fan, Brad Joseph, then called Christie a "hypocrite."
Christie, who was holding an order of nachos in his left hand, got inches away from the Cubs fan's face and told him, "you're a real big shot."
"For those of you who know me, I was very restrained,' Christie told reporters in Trenton. "I didn’t dump the nachos on him or anything, which I think was an option."
Joseph told a different story on his Facebook page.
"He came a few inches from my face and began to call me a 'big shot,' and a 'tough guy,' and asking 'what are you gonna do now?'" Joseph said. "He was close enough that I could feel his breath on my face as he shouted at me.
"He never denied being a hypocrite. Then, his right foot stepped well outside of the aisle and into our row, and he began to hit my leg with his knee in an aggressive fashion."
The image of Christie confronting Joseph quickly went viral.
